Robert C. Martinez is an experienced trial attorney with over 20 years in the profession and a diverse trial practice. Robert has represented private clients and government entities in state and federal court. Robert has tried both jury and bench trials throughout Southern California and he has also handled numerous arbitrations and mediations.
Robert’s first jury trial was a defense verdict in favor of his client in an automobile accident case in front of the former Presiding Judge of the San Diego Superior Court. Since then his trial work has grown in sophistication and has included the successful representation of the following:
- A homeowner in a real estate transaction matter;
- A contractor in a construction defect arbitration;
- A business suing to enforce the provisions of a contract;
- A trustee sued over the administration of a family trust;
- An insurance company in an asbestos-related coverage matter;
- A municipality in a dangerous condition of public property matter;
- A municipality in a land use/environmental matter;
- A contractor foreclosing on a mechanics lien; and,
- A construction company sued for breach of contract and damage to personal property.
Robert graduated from UCLA in June 1992 with a B.A. in Political Science. During his time in college he interned for The White House during the administration of President George H.W. Bush. Robert graduated from the University of San Diego, School of Law, in 1997 and was admitted to the California Bar in December of the same year. During his time in law school Robert studied at Oxford University in England, which also afforded him the opportunity to travel throughout Europe.
Robert is an avid golfer and an active member of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County and the San Diego Humane Society and SPCA.
